Bed and Breakfast in Arganil | Central Portugal
Since May 2016, I have been welcoming my guests to my small-scale bed & breakfast in Arganil, in the green heart of Central Portugal. Casa Traca is a small and informal Bed and Breakfast in central Portugal. A quiet place away from mass tourism yet centrally located in the municipality of Arganil, Coimbra. Enjoyment comes first at B&B Casa Traca.
Enjoy this beautiful country in all its facets. Enjoy not having to do anything, slow down and de-stress. I would like to give my guests this feeling of coming home on holiday!
The garden, with its many lounge areas, is entirely available to you, my guests. B&B Casa Traca is located halfway up Monte' Alto. From the garden you can walk straight to the top of the mountain with the beautiful chapel and the fabulous view.
Casa Traca has 4 spacious themed rooms where you can relax, for example after a day of holiday to the waterfalls of Fraga da Pena and the slate village of Píodão. Located in the protected nature reserve of Serra do Açor; Serra do Açor Protected Landscape.
I charge the same prices all year round. This way you can have an affordable holiday in our accommodation in Arganil, even in the high season, to relax and enjoy!
The location of Valbona
Bed and Breakfast Casa Traca is located near Arganil, in central Portugal, about 40 minutes from Coimbra, the old university city. You will find Casa Traca in the authentic village of Valbona. Time seems to have stood still in this small authentic village. There is a small village shop and café. There are forests for wonderful walks, mountains for the most beautiful mountain trips by car or motorcycle. Rivers for swimming and kayaking, waterfalls for enjoying the power of nature.
A day at the beach on the Atlantic Ocean is also no problem: Figueira da Foz is an hour's drive away. Bed and Breakfast Casa Traca in Arganil is part of the Serra do Açor Protected Landscape. Casa Traca is affiliated with the organization Natural.pt / ICNF Portugal for this purpose. Through this collaboration, I actively participate in the preservation of the Serra do Açor as a protected nature reserve.
Hottub arrangement
Since March 2020 there is also a lovely wood-fired hot tub. It is nice to relax with the air and jet streams in the warm water when it is colder. Or cool down when it is very hot outside. Relax with views over the Valbona valley and Arganil in the distance.
Let me know in advance if you also want to relax in the hot tub and I will make sure it is ready for you! With a bottle of wine and a tapas platter!
Coming home on holiday
Due to the diversity of rooms, B&B Casa Traca is suitable for both couples and families with children. Groups of up to 11 people are also very welcome.
