The historic village of Piódão is one of the most famous places in the municipality of Arganil in Central Portugal. The village is built entirely of slate. The stone type of the Serra do Açor.
The village has a very ancient history and is classified as a World Heritage Site. The village of Piódão is classified as a property of public interest by Decree nº 95/78, DR, I Série, n.º 210, de 12-09-1978. Also visit the Visit Portugal website .

Fraga da Pena
The waterfalls of Fraga da Pena are a beautiful natural phenomenon. Water clatters down throughout the year. However, in spring it is most impressive.
Fraga da Pena is located in the heart of the protected natural area of Mata da Margaraça in the Serra do Açor.

Foz d’Equa
Near Fraga da Pena is the praia fluvial, river beach, of Foz d’Egua.
This river beach is also entirely built of slate and is home to many beautiful spots.
The suspension bridge is unfortunately closed but the hike to the top with the chapel is more than worth it.

The rooms
We have the deluxe classic room with large private bathroom. This room is country and romantic decorated. Ideal for couples, couples for a luxury relaxing vacation or honeymoon.
Furthermore, Bed and Breakfast Arganil has 2 family rooms. The byzantine room can accommodate 4 people and is therefore ideal for families with young children. The room has a large private balcony. It is also the only room where a pet, dog is allowed.
The other family room can accommodate 3 people. The room is very large, 35m2 and therefore it can easily fit another crib. We can add this upon request.
Finally, we have the Far East or missionary room. This room is very suitable for friends or older children because the room has 2 single beds.
