Facilities at Casa Traca

Relax, unwind, de-stress and above all, enjoy!

This is what your vacation in Central Portugal is all about. The personal and also informal atmosphere of a bed and breakfast. That’s why there are extra facilities. If you arrive late, you can join me for dinner. Please let me know in advance so I can take this into account. As well as transportation from the bus or train station.

A nice packed lunch during one of your trips is also possible. Feel free to make an extra sandwich at the breakfast table. There is also the possibility to use the washing machine and dryer for a small fee. Ideal if you do not want to travel with a lot of luggage!

Breakfast

Breakfast is served at Casa Traca in the cozy conservatory between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. at a pre-arranged time. I serve breakfast at the table. Breakfast is included in the room rate.
Would you like to have breakfast earlier than 8 a.m.? If so, I will be happy to give you a breakfast cum lunch pack for the road. Before you leave there will be coffee and tea ready for you.
You can choose from 4 types of breakfast. If you want a vegetarian or vegan breakfast you must mention this when booking. You can choose from:
  • Continental breakfast with ingredients listed below
  • A vegetarian breakfast with possible fish (to be announced at least 2 days before arrival)
  • A vegetarian breakfast without fish (to be communicated at least 2 days before arrival)
  • A vegan breakfast (please notify at least 2 days before arrival)
If you are going on a day trip, you can also take advantage of the possibility of a packed lunch. Breakfast is so extensive that you may feel free to make an extra sandwich to take with you.

No lunch or dinner is offered at Bed and Breakfast Casa Traca. You can bring your own drinks and/or meal in the garden on one of the many terraces. There is crockery and cutlery on the covered terrace for outdoor use. In bad weather you are also welcome in the conservatory at the large table.

The entire garden is freely accessible to my guests. It also lends itself perfectly to a day of relaxation.

There are information folders both in the main hall and in the rooms. Here you will find not only the housekeeping rules, but also important telephone numbers and addresses. Also included here is a brief overview of the bookable excursions. There is also information on sights and trips in the area. Also some addresses for a delicious evening dinner.

Our check-out time is at 11:00 at the latest. However, if you wish to use your room longer, this is possible, if available, for a small fee.

Pick up service

The easiest way to get to Casa Traca is by car. If you come by plane, the easiest and cheapest way is to choose “fly and drive. If you do not want to rent a car, you can use our pick-up service from Coimbra or Moita da Serra. Please inquire about the possibilities.

Entrepreneurial Week Relaxing in hot tub Bed and Breakfast Casa Traca Valbona

Hottube arrangement

There has been a lovely wood-fired hot tub since March 2020. It is nice relaxing with the air and jet streams in the warm water when it is colder. Or cool down when it is very hot outside. Would you like to enjoy this? Please let me know in advance so I make sure it is ready for you.

Dogs at Casa Traca

Dogs are also welcome at Bed and Breakfast Casa Traca, if well behaved and listening. They should be social and also be able to interact with other dogs. I have a dog myself: Joep, a Labrador male now almost 9 years old (May 2017) and Binky, a mix of everything aged 1 1/2 years (September 2024). Since there are also cats, your dog must also be somewhat accustomed to cats.

However, there are some house rules if you want to bring your dog.

Dogs are welcome only if mentioned when booking and for a small fee.

Your dog is allowed in the room with you. However, this is only possible in the byzantine room with balcony. Please note this when making a reservation.
